Christmas Lights Direct Customer Returns Policy
Christmas Lights Direct is dedicated to providing you with quality customer service. We want you to be 100% satisfied with the purchases that you make at Christmas Lights Direct.com. It is our policy that you may return merchandise purchased on our site for any reason within 14 days of delivery of a shipment for a refund, exchange or credit (See Holiday Merchandise Returns below for limitations on holiday specific purchases).
Note: No Shipping Charges Will Be Refunded. All refunds will be less shipping charges. Returned products may also be subject to a 15% restocking charge.
All merchandise returned to Christmas Lights Direct must be returned in the manufacturers original packaging (like new condition). The package must include all components and other items originally packaged with the merchandise. Upon receipt of your return we will gladly issue you an exchange, credit or refund your money to the original form of purchase.
All sales for clearance merchandise are final. No returns or exchanges on clearance merchandise.
Order cancellations must be done prior to shipment of product. All cancellations should be communicated through email at guest.service@christmas-lights-direct.com or via toll free phone at (800) 690-4425.
Holiday Merchandise Returns:
Due to the seasonal nature of the merchandise that we carry, merchandise purchased before:
* Valentines Day Merchandise cannot be returned for a refund, exchange or credit after Valentines Day has passed, even if it is within the (14) day return period.
* Saint Patrick’s Day Merchandise cannot be returned for a refund, exchange or credit after Saint Patrick's Day has passed, even if it is within the (14) day return period.
* Easter Merchandise cannot be returned for a refund, exchange or credit after Easter has passed, even if it is within the (14) day return period.
* Halloween Merchandise cannot be returned for a refund, exchange or credit after Halloween (October 31st) has passed, even if it is within the (14) day return period. Halloween Costumes may not be returned after October 10th and may be subject to a 15% restocking charge.
* Christmas Merchandise cannot be returned for a refund, exchange or credit after Christmas Day (December 25th) has passed, even if it is within the (14) day return period. Absolutely no returns on clearance merchandise.
* Since our "Design Your Own Light Sets" are custom built to our customers specifications we are unable to accept returns on any Design Your Own Light Sets ordered.
Other Merchandise Returns:
Wedding, Party and Patriotic products can be returned for any reason within 14 days of delivery of a shipment and are not subject to the holiday Merchandise Returns limitations above.
Product Abuse Disclaimer:
Items that are damaged due to improper handling, rough handling, electrical overloading, immersion in water and/or have broken bulbs cannot be exchanged and are not returnable or refundable.
Discrepancies between merchandise ordered and merchandise shipped:
Any discrepancies between what was ordered and what was received will be handled directly by the Christmas Lights Direct guest service staff. Please email us within 3 days of the shipment receipt at guest.service@christmas-lights-direct.com.
Important: All returns must follow the returns procedure below:
Christmas Lights Direct Returns Procedure
In order to return merchandise you must first request a return authorization number from Christmas Lights Direct.
To obtain an Return Authorization Number:
- Log into your account
- Click on Orders History
- Find the order in which you have an item you'd like to return
- Once viewing that order, scroll down to the bottom to see the items eligible for return
- Check each item you'd like to return, fill out the form and click "Create"
If you have troubles using that method, you can also send an email with the following information to guest.service@christmas-lights-direct.com
* The Christmas Lights Direct purchase order number.
* A brief description of the merchandise to be returned and why you would like to return it.
* How you would like to proceed (i.e. would you like to make an exchange for another product, or be issued a credit/refund?)
* A guest service professional will respond to your email or call you within 2 business days with a return authorization number.
* You will be responsible for paying the shipping costs to return the merchandise to us.
After obtaining a return authorization number please be sure to do the following:
* Ensure that the authorization number is clearly marked on the outside of the box.
* Merchandise must be returned in the manufacturers original packaging with all components along with any promotional merchandise.
* Do not write on the product packaging or warranty cards.
* Any incomplete shipments will be refused (i.e. missing a return authorization number or missing product components)
* For your protection, we recommend that you fully insure your return shipment in case it is lost or damaged. Please select a carrier that can provide you with proof of delivery.
* Once we receive your package your refund, exchange or credit less shipping charges will be processed within 7 days.
Defective Products:
Defective products can be returned directly to Christmas Lights Direct within 14 days of the shipment receipt. There is no charge to the customer, but the Christmas Lights Direct Returns procedure must be fully complied with (All returns have to be accompanied by a return authorization number). The merchandise returned will be replaced with identical merchandise only.
